thank you for all your help. Now to download my entire library again. lol
still having this issue with remote access not being available outside my network. i think im cursed at this point.
is there an autosleep feature or something like that?
@anunez86
Please do a restart of PMS,
Let it sit for 3 minutes, completely idle.
I’d like to see it do everything it normally does without doing anything else (no web interaction or anything).
Then download the logs ZIP file and attach it.
I will walk through the sequence and see if we can figure out what should be happening and then what is happening.
@anunez86
Thank you for the logs. I see what’s happening.
Your server is retrying so much that Plex.tv has throttled your Remote Access attempts.
I could reset your certificate, which clears certificate throttling, but don’t know if it would be of any help here.
You might not have any choice but to turn off Remote Access for 6, 12, 24 hours and then re-enable.
How would you like to proceed?

I will turn it off for 24 hours if that will fix it. not like I have any movies to watch anymore lol. I’ll let you know if that works.
You can play locally, or over a VPN to yourself (connecting as if LAN) and you’ll be OK.
You just won’t have formal Remote Access until it has time to settle.
had it off for a bit over 24 hours then tried it and it went down same day. Should I go longer?
Grab me a fresh set of logs please ?
- Enable Remote Access
- Restart Plex
- Let sit completely idle for 2 minutes (capture the startup sequence)
- Download the logs
- Attach.
What does Canyouseeme.org report ?
Which port should be open ? I’ll reach directly after I look at what Plex.tv sees
Plex Media Server Logs_2021-03-29_17-47-39.zip (1.5 MB)
updated logs attached. When I try to use canyouseeme.org it doesn’t let me change the IP address. not sure if it supposed to automatically detect it but it should be http://192.168.1.154:32400/
Your server is reachable.
Plex/web always has fluttered since day one. It’s dumb but that’s what it is. There is actually a delay in there PLUS every time you look at it – it will test again. That can mess up the timers .
I find it works best by hovering the mouse over the left panel and not opening the Remote Access window.

If we mess with it, it will shutdown. This is because Plex.tv won’t let a server monopolize (DDOS) it.
Am I pretty much stuck in an infinite loop then with no way to get out? i tried shutting it off for a week and re-enabled it yesterday. Remote access lasted about a day before going down again.
I just looked and I can see that it did register.
I tried your IP directly, it is completely shut down (no reply).
When you log into the modem/router, what does it show for UPNP status?
Are you adverse to trying a manual port map?
What make/model modem do you have ?
My UPnP just shows enabled, it doesn’t give me a status.
I would try a manual port, I tried once before but I couldn’t get it to work and stuck with the UPnP since it wasn’t giving me any issues at the time.
I have the verizon fios G3100.
can you sign into it and see everything?
What I find on the net makes it seem easy to do
I’ll try it again. I’m sure there is something simple I am missing.
manual port seems to have done the trick so far. I have not had any disconnects since. Fingers crossed.
Thank you again for holding my hand through this. Hopefully this works long term.
I can confirm. I can reach out to your machine successfully.
Manual port mapping is more stable – provided there are no firmware updates, etc.
