Running a QNAP TS-670 Pro version 4.3.5.0728 (Current) and QNAP Intel 64 bit version of Plex Media Server version 1.13.9.5456 (current). Have read through similar posts but could not find something specific to my problems.
I used to have Plex running and serving my media library on this box just locally at home, did not do remote play and was requiring https connections using the default Plex ports. I was having problems with my volume reporting incorrect size when I upgraded from 4.2 to 4.3. I moved all of my data off, uninstalled all apps on the QNAP, re-did my volume, and also changed the IP of the NAS from 192.168.2.25/25 to 192.168.3.25/25. There are two 1 gig connections and are bonded, that is where the 192.168.3.25 IP resides. Have no connection problems to the QNAP but have since reinstalled Plex and I am getting to the screen where I login with my Plex Pass, but after that I am getting the “Looking for servers” and it never finds my QNAP Plex. In another post to check out logs I pulled down the “PMSLIBSHARE” app. I have tried restarting the app, rebooting the QNAP, deleting the preferences.xml, removed all trusted devices under my account including the QNAP and all clients. Have tried navigating directly to the same spot that the Plex app link pops up when I launch from the QNAP home screen (http://192.168.3.25:32400/web/index.html) but by https and get a error that the https site cannot be reached. I have a few roku’s in my home and when I launch the app since I removed all of the trusted devices it asked to re-link, I did so successfully. It then took me to the screen with my three users, I logged in as the main account and I get just “News, Podcasts, and Webshows” and at the top it says “No servers” and “No servers found. Please Try again.” Not sure what else to do and any guidance that can be provided would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Yes, that is correct. I did try in a in-cognito window, and received a plex login window. I did login and now am at the main plex window with the “Looking for servers” on the left hand side.
In step 2, I did before find an entry for my old PMS which I removed and everything that was in there during troubleshooting earlier before I posted in the Plex Forums. Now there is only Chrome and two Roku’s as authorized devices.
I did get greeted with logging in, and did so with the option “By Email” and took me back to the screen still “Looking for servers”. I never get prompted to do the setup though. On my other Chrome window that I was using to look at authorized devices, it did pop up this little orange bar across the web page that says “An insecure media server has been found on your network. Reload app insecurely” If I click on that it redirects me from the plex.tv to my NAS of 192.168.3.25 actual link (http://192.168.3.25:32400/web/index.html) with my three users. If I log in with my main account I still get the Looking for servers. I did also try my other two accounts and I just get a message that no media libraries have been shared yet. If I check under both of those accounts as well for authorized devices I only see Chrome browser.
It’s unclear because your 3 other shared users were still found.
This process assumes there are no shared users. Any which do exist will need be added again when done unless you’re comfortable transferring the old machine ID information to the new instance.
Did you ever delete the Preferences.xml ?
Given this is 1.13.9, I would like to offer you 1.13.4 to use. We can get it going with 1.13.4 easier.
This is PMS 1.13.4.5251 X86_64 for QNAP from my Google Drive
