I use a dedicated Windows PMS for recordings purposes - utilizing a SiliconDust HDhomeRun Expand (with 4 tuners). From time to time, I still encounter colliding recording slots and my initial reaction would be: more tuners.
Before shelling out money to buy a second HDhomeRun device, I am asking myself about the limits.
a) Is it possible to combine two HDhomeRun SAT>IP server devices on one PMS to have 8 instead of 4 tuners available?
And, in case that this is possible… I understand that at the moment, I can only have one EPG for this (which would be fine at the moment). Is that still the case?
Has anybody any experience with that?
Does such a system disallow double-recording of the same airing automatically or does the admin need to configure this by controlling which channel is mapped on which Plex DVR?
Are there any further cave-eats for such a setup?
What are your experiences?
