.nfo files are unfortunately not supported in Plex. Yet.

The Metadata agent XBMCnfoMoviesImporter works with Plex and supports nfo files. You can find it on Github at GitHub - gboudreau/XBMCnfoMoviesImporter.bundle . Note though that official nfo support was apparently announced last year as coming, but it is unclear when.

Also note that the above legacy agent is no longer supported by plex
