Question about Synology 720+ PMS transcoding

Quite a while ago, when I first got my Synology 720+ plex transcoding was not working correctly. I followed someone’s guide to get transcoding working properly at the time. It disabled some driver that was broken at the time.

Here’s the guide I followed…

  1. Install Synology Text Editor app
  2. Stop PMS
  3. Open the Plex share in File Station
  4. Navigate to Library / Application Support / Plex Media Server
  5. Right-click Preferences.xml -> Open in Text Editor
  6. Scroll to the end of the last line (you’ll see a /> )
  7. In front of that type: VaapiDriver="i965"
  8. It will look like VaapiDriver="i965" /> (space in front of Vaapi too)
  9. Save the file.
  10. Start PMS

Does this driver work correctly now? Should I re-enable it? Will I see better performance ‘if’ it has been fixed?

Server Version#: 1.21.0.3616
Player Version#:current

Thanks!! This may sound dumb but how do I revert the change?

I’m guessing I just delete the "VaapiDriver=“i965"” line that I added to it…
