I am a long time advanced Plex user. I have a handful of movies that a few users have pointed out don’t work. They work for me on my shield, but on all other devices, they either don’t play at all or the stutter and skip around.
It’s on a variety of different files, basic 1080p h264, h265, 4k, hdr, etc, it doesn’t seem to be consistent. It’s not all files, just some. I have about 25k movies so it’s hard to tell which are doing and which are not. They are all also in different locations. Different drives and even different Nas’s. The other weird thing is transcoding them seems to fix the stuttering.
I also tried switching to my igpu instead of my p2000 but that didn’t change anything. This impacts direct play but the devices are transcoding audio, and my shield is playing the audio directly.
I have restarted the server, deleted the codecs folder, I’m running the beta pms.
Seems to just be in the last few weeks. I wasn’t seeing it because I pretty much only use my shield but my friends have started to complain.
I have tried iOS, AppleTV, Roku TV and the web player. I am attaching logs and at the end of the log I played oppenheimer and Malcom X, both took a long time to load(normally movies load fast) and both were skipping around once they loaded. I also tried completely replacing the file with a different version and file and it is still doing it. These files work perfectly in EMBY. I also tried repairing the DB.
Edit: I also tried downgrading to the stable release, Version 1.32.8.7639, and that did not fix it.
