RasPlex 0.7.0 released

As far as I’m aware you can’t pull up the ‘Context’ menu on either Android or iOS remote apps. If you use your TV remote and CEC you can easily configure a spare remote button to bring up the context menu, search for How to CEC in this forum for examples.

Okay, thank you, Ned!

Just to pop in and say everything is working great with the new update! No reboots since I updated, and it’s not like reboots were all that common beforehand anyway. Thanks for the hard work!

Hi Guys, thanks for the update.

Automatic update went smoothly for me. Didn’t test a lot at the moment, but I met a first problem : I have to uncheck AC3 and DTS capable receiver to hear any audio.

I have exactly the same issue. AC3 and DTS pass through does not work anymore. Rasplex 0.6.0 had no issues with pass through mode.

Any ideas?

I upgraded about a week ago to the 0.7.0 release, and also encountered the audio issue of having to uncheck DTS in order to get DTS encoded movies with sound to play properly. Today the issue surfaced again, but slightly changed. Now DTS encoded movies play with no sound on the primary audio channel. I can still hear background music, etc. Changes to 5.1, 7.1, 7.0, etc all have no effect. Checking “send stereo to all speakers” setting also has no effect. Rebooting the RasPlex also had no effect.

Strange that it was working a few days ago and now is not …

Thanks for any help.

What is your RPi connected to?

I tried installing it by cleaning the SD Card then download and write the image to the SD Card using your tool…

all i get is a Rainbow screen !??

Raspberry Pi 2, Samsung 32GB SD Card Class 10

You need to install the RPi2 image, not the RPi1 image.

I used the GetRasplex.exe downloader to get it :frowning:

Will try manually downloading everything from Github instead … sheesh :frowning:

Edit:
It worked !..

What happened to Filters (clicking left on the movie overview) ???

Now i have a list with 200 to 500 movie titles instead ?!?!?

:open_mouth:

So far so good for me - updated via the updater and everything seems to be working as expected (yet to watch anything more than 10 mins on it of course yet!)

Thanks for the great work!

Updated all three RPi2 to 0.7.0 from within RasPlex.

All three fail at fast forward and rewind. The icon comes up at the bottom left and increases when FF/RW is pressed multiple times i.e. x2/x4 etc but the video does not FF or RW, instead the sound mutes and the video continues to play at normal speed in the background.

I’ll find out over the weekend if FF/RW and resume are working remotely yet, as I got my brother to update yesterday, also on a RPi2 hardwired but playing remotely, now on 0.7.0.

All three of my RPi2 are hardwired to the LAN and playing from a local server running the latest version of PMS.

Guess it’s back to 0.5.1…again. Anyone know if FF/RW works locally & remotely in Emby?

Have you tried clean flash, FF/RW does indeed work, as indeed a number of posters have mentioned in different topics.

I have the same problem, no audio. any fix?

General comments on the reported issues with audio - Part 1

If you have your RPi directly connected to your TV via HDMI cable, using a cable certified to HDMI 1.4, your ‘Audio output’ settings should (normally) be:

Audio output - HDMI
Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver - unchecked
Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC3) capable receiver - unchecked
DTS capable receiver - unchecked
Output stereo to all speakers - unchecked
Audio output channels - 2.0
Audio output devices - HDMI

If you have your RPi directly connected to an A/V receiver via HDMI cable, using a cable certified to HDMI 1.4, your ‘Audio output’ settings should (normally) be:

Audio output - HDMI
Dolby Digital (AC3) capable receiver - checked if the receiver is DD certified
Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC3) capable receiver - checked if the receiver is DD+ certified
DTS capable receiver - checked if the receiver is DTS certified
Output stereo to all speakers - unchecked
Audio output channels - 5.1 or 5.0 if you have no subwoofer
Audio output devices - HDMI

General comments on the reported issues with audio - Part 2

There have been reported issues with users who directly connect their RPi to their TV and then route audio via the TV optical out to an AV receiver or Soundbars with no HDMI input. Not all TVs can support the output of 5.1 sound via the optical output. Your TV manual will normally state whether this is supported or you can check this site http://www.cnet.com/uk/news/20-tvs-tested-which-sets-can-pass-surround-sound-to-a-sound-bar/ for some info on 20 TVs.

If your TV does not support full 5.1 output then you should use the RPi directly connected to TV settings in my Part 1.

0.7 upgrade worked a treat here on all 4 of my Pis (B, two B+s and a Pi2)
DTS sound also working fine

Great job!

Fresh install of 0.7.0 and I cannot signin to Plex with un/pw or pin. Had to install 0.6.0, sign into plex, then upgrade from within rasplex.

[EDIT]
Solved below by upgrading Plex Media Server. I was using a slightly older version which did not work with the authentication system for 0.7.0 it seems. Thanks @NedtheNerd and @dlanor for the help.

Suggest you update PMS to 0.9.12.8, there were a number of fixes in 9.12.5.
