We've recently launched our crossplatform installers, source available on github https://github.com/Risca/rasplex-installer or download the binaries here http://rasplex.com/get-started/rasplex-installers.html.

If you have ideas / suggestions / problems, post about them here!

the current vs for OSx does not work.  It will download the .img files but as soon as you tell it to format the SD card it just crashes with zero errors reported.  Had to install via cli.  not a major issue, but something the devs here should be aware of.

Can you tell us some more about the error?

On OS X Mavericks, basically you double click the installer, is asks for run or quit, so you push run, it asks for the admin password, then the icon bounces up and down for a while and then quits.... so basically.... nothing happens

any progress on getting the installers working on mavericks? mavericks is in GM now

Hi

Just downloaded the installer and accompanying .img fie to a Win8.1, when I extract and run the installer as admin. it does not see the .img file... or anything else for that matter! this worked previously but not sure what version it was?

Same issue as above happening here.

I downloaded the installer a while ago and now it has that same behaviour.

It seems like it wants to download the latest version from the Internet which is somehow failing.

This can't be canceled.

This prog needs a bug fix so it is not dependent of the Internet.

I have the image on my PC, but can't use it this way....

I have a little problem with my SD-card and thought I could quickly solve it by just formatting it and installing it again.

Now I can either live with that a while or I should get into installing it by hand...

I have to flash my phone to another new Android 4.3 and think I'm going to concentrate on that...

Will do this later.

Maybe that installer can get updated?

Hi!

I'm the original author of the rasplex graphical installer. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to work on the installer for quite some time now (finishing my masters and busy work schedule). It's sad, but that's how it is. I'll probably be busy for a few more weeks before I can get some spare time to catch up.

For all of you out there that really need rasplex right now, there are some options:

* 7zip will probably work in Windows, most (all?) Linux distros handle .gz

** Use http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/ on Windows, 'dd' on linux

I don't have access to any OSx devices, so I can't really do much for Mavericks users :(

Since is based on xbmc please add support for navi-x its the best solution i found for live tv streaming

It have alot of live tv streaming

And navi-x comunity are verry nice they will help you for sure with any problem in porting it

Please please please

Or just add a plugin system like in xbmc so people will do the rest and you dont need to worry about it

The Mac installer is flimsy. I accidentally installed Xbian on my external USB hard drive instead of the sd card. Lost 1,5 TB of movie and tv-series recordings.

I guess I won't be needing a media player for a while...

The destination list in the installer definitely needs some work. In the meantime, command line is highly recommended.

There are a few software to recover your data if you didn't write since formatting.

I can not get it to work. When the first page show (plex for openelec) it says in the upper left corner:

Error in mount storage

SH: cant access tty: job control turned off.



What am I doing wrong?

Could you add an option to configure the WiFi Network in the installer already? I have a very long wifi key and it's not really fun to type that in with the TV Remote... Well since RasPlex is OpenELEC based, I can't even configure the wifi over SSH because OpenELEC is missing the required modules... Any possibility to add an option to easily configure wifi?
