Rasplex not playing any videos at all but Chrome, Firefox and XBox One are fine!?

I’m not sure where to look to provide any useful information but maybe if I describe my problem someone will know where to point me.

I installed Plex Media Server on a raspberry pi 2 and Rasplex 0.7.1 on another raspberry pi 2. I tested this setup before, played 1080p Mad Max and 1080 Akira with no problems at all. The server was also able to play through chrome and on the XBox One.

I’ve since reinstalled the Plex Server and Rasplex following the exact same steps as I did before (the ONLY difference is that this time I disabled unused daemons and removed unused packages on the plex server) but now I can’t get ANY video to play on the Rasplex device! They all sit on “Please wait”, the wifi goes crazy busy to the point where the Rasplex device no longer responds to pings and then finally comes back saying it was unable to play the selected items. Occasionally it will give an odd error about the server not being able to create a play queue.

The strange thing about this is that, using the exact same Plex server and the exact same videos, I can watch them on my latpop through Chrome, Firefox and through the XBox One plex app… it just refuses to play on the Rasplex (When playing a different audio track inside Firefox it does complain about the browser not supporting streaming but works fine in chrome).

While the Rasplex is in the “please wait” state, I have verified that the rasplex is establishing a connection to the Plex server. I don’t see anything in the Logs directory of Plex server and nothing in the (what I think is) the rasplex log directory.

Any idea what could be happening or where I could look to find out what’s going on?

I figured it out. It was driving me nuts because it just didn’t make sense so in one last attempt to fix it before I got completely frustrated, I swapped out the edimax wifi adapter and that fixed it!!! Apparently the wireless adapter I had been using was going bad. I replaced it with the exact same model and it worked fine. Problem solved.

Does Rasplex connect to a supported PMS installation, OSX, Linux, NAS, Windows?

I didn’t test that because it seemed to be network based since the wireless card was being pegged to the point of losing all connection to everything temporarily. I’ve figured out the problem, it was simply the wireless adapter going bad. Which makes sense because nothing else was making any sense at all lol.

Replaced the adapter with a new one of the exact same model and now everything is working flawlessly! Thanks for the reply though.
