Rasplex on RP3 reboot/crash constantly

Hi, I have tested with versions 1.7.1 and 1.6.2 but same issue occurs.
different SD cards as well.
I am using a Raspberry pi 3 model b v1.2

if I leave the Raspberry and not using it, it never reboots. I can play videos (if I am quick to select them)

but as soon as I use my wireless keyboard or my wifi remote and go deeper in the menus the unit just reboots. no error messages, nothing.
I disabled CEC altogether but same problem

I can force the issue very quickly several times by just pressing left/right/up/down on my remote or keyboard. I suspect it is related to the peripherals somehow.

only “error” in log is this

06:04:00 T:1801450464 DEBUG: CMyPlexManager::BroadcastState state: logged in, error: no error

I also notice a major lag when using SSH compared to my experiances with Kodi/xbmc, the characters take seconds to appear in putty.
I did some overclocking and it got somewhat better.

is there any other log I can view to find the cause?

This sounds like a driver or power issue. What kind of powersupply are you using? Does it happen with a wired keyboard?

tried a 2A PS now but instead it crashes with some error regarding CPU… might be related to my attempt to overclock  will let you know

rPi 3 requires 2.5a for basic stable functionality. When you overclock, you increase the power consumption as well.

I disabled the overclocking, the old PS was only 800mA so I changed it to a 2A. Everything works until I use any keyboard(cable or Bluetooth/wifi) and move around a bit, then it reboots. nothing in log whatsoever.
really frustrating. I don’t know if it is a crash, it just looks like a normal reset.

I changed the SD to my old KODI installation just to check that the pi wasn’t broken, that works just fine.

run top to see if there is something eating your CPU and thats why you find it slow

I guess it could be power related but you should get the 4 colors square on the top corner to let you know

well, embarrassing but the low amp powersupply seems to have been the culprit

The Pi 3 needs a “2500mAh-Powersupply” - use this and nothing else.
Even a 2000mAh PS from a Pi 2 makes the Pi3 unstable with RasPlex.
Tested and proved.
