A strange issue has re-appeared in RC3 which had seemingly been fixed in previous releases.
When watching TV shows (x264, MKV container), there is often a a short period after a commercial break or opening titles, when the entire video is distorted and audio is disabled entirely.
I've verified this shows/files on my Mac and no such issue exists there. My Pi is using a wired connection, direct play (no transcoding).
Suggest increasing cache to 30% and overclocking, suggestions for over clocks that work can be found in the forum! most people try dlanor's settings.
Regards
Can you point me to some instructions on how to overclock a pi running rasplex? Couldn't find anything in this forum, especially not dlanor's settings. Thx.
Sound issues are usually related to the audio CODEC and also to the playback method.
There have been particular issues with AC3 and DTS 5.1 channel sound.
Please state some of the specifics for the files that give you trouble, and for AC3 or DTS sound also state the system audio settings in the preferences menu.
Best regards: dlanor
Thanks, or Tack så mycket :)
These files are direct playing as far as I can tell.
My system settings are sound via HDMi, 2.0, as well as clicked in both AC3 and DTS compatible receiver, so the TV should pass the signal through to receiver. One thing I noticed, but not related to the problem (since I have had problems with many different audio streams) is that DTS files don't seem to pass through my TV, which is a Philips 52PFL5605H. AC3 works and shows the "DD" icon on the display on my receiver, but not DTS-files. Receiver is nothing fancy, but capable of both audio streams.
In regards to the specific problem, I will do some more testing and list more specifics in Github. I have already been asked to provide additional information there and will do so asap.

When I try to power On the raspberry Pi some times the TV screen shows up and many times I only have a black screen without possibility to do anything.
So I have to force the power off of the raspberry by cutting the power and I obtain a corrupted SD card...
I have to to a fresh install of the RC3.
I work for one or two switch on and after I got the same problem...
It's really anoying.
The problem don't seem to be with my Pi because It powers Up correctly when I switch to an SD card with openelec.
I just re-flashed with the rasplex-RP-9.9.20.img.tz image I have here and re-confirmed that it FF/RW does in fact work. I can take a short video of it with my phone and send it to you if you like if that would help.
In that thread you linked, didn't dalehamel state that it would be fixed in 0.9.9.20?
Edit:
I just made a quick 22MB video with my phone showing the working FF/RW functionality on my 9.9.20 rasplex. I am happy to share it with anyone who would like to see it if that is in any way helpful, but I'm not sure where to post/upload it.

I can confirm this as well. This has happened to me also, but I'll gladly take this in exchange for the freezes of the last 2 releases. rc3 hasn't froze on me yet.
Another thing I noticed is the ability to "play on rasplex" from the Browser is broken.
bosshog, can you please clarify exactly what you mean by 'play on rasplex' from the Browser? Do you mean from Plex/Web and casting something? Do you mean casting from PlexIt? and this just happened from RC3?

Not new to RC3 that feature never worked for me. I'm talking about in Windows clicking the tray icon brings up plex library in the web browser. Then if you select a video from the library but not clicking play just clicking the thumbnail image. you go the the details page, where, if your media server is active there is a down arrow on the right side of the orange play button and you can select the "play on rasplex" where rasplex is the name of your media server I have realized.

After upgrading to RC3 reboots are extremely long, up to the point when first two times I thought it was stuck, so I powered the pi off...third time i let it run, and it took good 5-7 minutes before PHT showed up. I'm also experiencing random reboots, which are very short and after PHT is back there are no sections available, everything is replaced with "Search", so i have to power the pi on and off. Also video will sometimes freeze, the sound will continue to play for few more seconds and the pi becomes unresponsive shortly after.
Is anyone else having issues with DTS or AC3 on RC3? I can't get RasPlex to send any 5.1 sound to my receiver anymore. Settings should be correct. It is set to 5.1 and DTS and AC3 support are checked. Haven't had this problem with RC2.
I have issues with the sound dropping about every other minute for like 3/10 of a second. Haven't had this problem before (tried earlier betas and RC1). Sample file: http://bit.ly/1kl6PGW
Not sure if the sample is long enough to test the problem since it might be several minutes between the hiccups.
Before filing a bug report I'm wondering if anybody else has encountered the following issue:
I start to play a video on rasplex by connecting from one of our android devices. After a couple of minutes the video dissappears from the screen but the audio can still be heard. And by stopping/restarting the video the issue isn't resolved. Only restarting the video from rasplex self will solve the issue.
I read something about the web app not being able to control rasplex. Can this be connected?

I managed to fix long reboots and shutdown by reflashing the card (something was definitely not right after upgrading OTA, it still said rc2 on the booting screen). No random reboots while watching a movie yesterday, but freeze/unresponsiveness didn't go away unfortunately, experienced it twice since reflashing.
