In addition, I’ve removed the rating on some of my media myself. I will test if a rating gets applied to those as well, because I know the rating will be back in x time. I will let you know.
This all makes sense to me I think @Quafley. On the back-end we record when a rating is changed, this is your rating history. PMM adds a PMS user rating, and the rating is synced to the cloud, resulting in a historical rating. (We have added a patch to the back-end to ignore the repeated re-ratings, though.)
I must admit though that I’m confused here , on what your actual issue is that you’re reporting. Is it that PMM is re-adding user ratings, or that you see historical ratings from the cloud? Is there an issue with PMM adding ratings repeatedly, or not? Why are you running PMM every day to remove your ratings?
Please keep me posted on your testing, thank you!
I just tested my theory and it does seem to grab the rating from my history.
no rating history, so it does not "import " it

My question is if my history can be removed entirely, so it doesn’t cosntantly re-apply my old ratings on movies I have not watched .
I would be happy to remove your ratings on the back-end, but there’s no way that will solve your problem. I’m positive that PMM does not get ratings from our cloud. More likely, it is updating the ratings based on some other source (I believe you mentioned using imdb before – based on PMM’s description of how they compute stars, I believe an imdb rating of 7.8 for Avatar will result in 3.5 stars; though I’m not sure why “Filth” didn’t get a rating)
Your posted example doesn’t quite compute for me, as you mentioned that “Filth” does not have rating history, but in your previous post you showed a screenshot that clearly has “Filth” with rating history.
I’m happy to help as much as I can, but I can confidently tell you that cloud rating history is not being used by PMM. You posted screenshots of PMM logs before, maybe take a look at those again, since the ratings were re-applied?
The first point is not what I was insinuating. I said that I removed PMM doing anything related to the scoring. It seems to score history is periodically set back from my rating history, after removing the score with PMM. Like the logs and help confirm, pmm does not touch the ratings in any way shape or form.
What I was trying to show with the movie Filth, is that I removed the history (1 rating on the 23rd) and compared that to a movie which did have rating history. The movie Filth would have no rating after x time, whilst the other movie retrieved the rating for the rating history.
So yes, please remove all my history, as I will then be able to start fresh and rate the movies that I’ve actually watched, instead of the ratings being applied from an old configuration within PMM.
Ah, sorry I misunderstood the “Filth” issue.
pmm does not touch the ratings in any way shape or form.
Can you clarify what you mean here? It seems that PMM did in fact re-add a rating for Avatar, right? Or am I misunderstanding again? I am assuming that PMM added the rating for Avatar, as you were specifically comparing it with “Filth”, which got no rating added by PMM, correct?
Is the following an accurate description of what you tried, and the results you saw?
- Remove all ratings from all titles, using PMM
- Remove rating history from “Filth”, by clicking the three dots and then “Remove Activity”
- Run PMM to re-add ratings
- All titles, except Filth, had ratings added by PMM
I’m happy to remove your cloud ratings, but it would be immensely helpful to understand your issue a bit further before I do so. As I mentioned before, I am very doubtful that the cloud ratings interact with PMM. Among other reasons, I have looked at the PMM code and there is no reference to the cloud activity. However, I am trying to get more information from the developers.
