Re-Install Plex on Android without deleting sync'd files

Server Version#: 1.23.0.1435-e10e14cf
Player Version#: 8.9.2.21619

My android app no longer works. It crashes 100% of the time a few seconds after opening the app. I’ve tried everything and my last resort is to re-install the app. Is there anyway to keep the sync’d files when uninstalling the app? It took me weeks to get my music files sync’d, since there are many bugs with syncing. I really don’t want to have to re-sync everything again.

Unfortunately, no. Instead of rolling back, try upgrading to the current beta. A few crash scenarios have been addressed in these. Android (mobile) beta release notes

+1 I also have sync’d music and the app is now constantly crashing. It only started happening after I updated a playlist on the server and then tried to get the Android app to sync.

My issue also started when I added some new music to my server and updated a playlist. That same playlist is also sync’d on my phone.

I installed the current beta version of the app on my phone and the problem wasn’t solved. Still 100% instant crash rate. However, my phone just installed a system update and now the app works fine. Luckily I didn’t re-install the app, so my sync’d files are still there. No idea what the problem was.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S9.
