Re-installed Plex Media Server on QNAP cannot be added to my account

Player Version#: Edge and Chrome Bowser

I got an error “You do not have permission to access this server” when trying to add my Plex Server on my QNAP TS-473 NAS device using the http://:32400/manage URL. The server is not on my list of authorized devices and there are no entries in Preferences.xml that have any of my user info in it.

Help…I want to get this back up for the long weekend.

In your browser —

  1. Sign out of Plex/web
  2. Open an incognito window
  3. Open http://LAN.IP.of.QNAP:32400/web – you must be on the same subnet.

If this fails, we can force it to ‘reclaim’ at ssh

Looks like same subnet was the key. I have 3 in the house and the workstation I was working from was on the work side and not the home side of the network.

Thanks for the quick reply. I won’t forget this little tidbit in case it happens again.
