The Xbox One app is only the client. If you wish to 'serve' your media to your Xbox, and possibly other devices, you need to install the server (free). http://plex.tv/downloads
Once installed and configured on your computer (where your USB drive will go), it will serve your media to everything.
So i can’t just read the usb from xbox one right ? I need to keep active both my pc and xbox one to watch a movie, right ?
A friend of mine has an Xbox One. I can plug drives into it just fine but they play through the Xbox interface. If you want to use the Plex interface (which is much nicer and has the metadata) you will need a server somewhere. My servers are on my NAS and computer.
