I have been pulling my hair out on this one and have search the forums and tried everything I can think of. For no reason at all, about a month or 2 ago my Plex Media Server on my Netgear ReadyNAS won’t allow my family to access it remotely using their Sony TV’s (different Models), yet they can still access it via computer or mobile phone.
During my testing I found that my Windows Server which I don’t have on all the time will work fine remotely with the Sony TV, just not my NAS which is where I keep all my content. I have tried signin out and in, rebooting, removing antivirus but they still can’t access it. I have always done the updates as they come through for my Plex Media Server and for my Netgear ReadyNAS.
The Server shows “Fully Accessible Outside your Network” with Green Ticks as always. As I said before it works fine remotely from a PC web browser or Phone app. But for some reason the Sony TV app on two different Sony TV’s can’t find the server.
