Looking at the other topic you posted in ( Get rid of Exo Player - #31 by FordGuy61 ) it looks like…
- when you created the library you added the folder
/datawith no subfolder for movies - then added movies directly in the folder called
/datasuch as/data/Trolls (2016)
what this means is that every time is scans it scans the entire data folder which can contain things that have nothing to do with your media files.
make a folder that only has your movies in it such as /data/movies put your movie folders in that such as /data/movies/Trolls (2016)
so your movie library set up will be something like image below.
