The Basic setup wizard is not launching! I just get a page with the word “PLEX” on it. I’m trying to rebuild my CentOS 7 server from the ground up and have my media library mounted but now I can’t configure the plexmediaserver. Is there a way to do this from the command line or by editing some XML file?
Server Version#: CentOS 7.2009 (needed for iscsi)
Player Version#:1.41.5.9522-a96edc606.x86_64
Is the server claimed at this point?
If not, you can claim it using:
User Credential Reset utility for Plex
(Run this on the command line of the host running PMS)
Once claimed, you can complete the setup on anything with a GUI and web browser
Not yet claimed this is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you
Chuck - I’m baffled. The server “apsoplex.lotto.net ” is running. and claimed. I’ve got secured connections set to “preferred” and succesfully added all of my media libraries and then it just disappeared from plex.tv. I can’t even connect to it on my local network using the Windows client!
[root@apsoplex ~]# systemctl status plexmediaserver

I think I found the problem:
tcp6 0 0 [::]:32400 [::]:* LISTEN
but ipv6 is disabled. What is going on?
@jerrylotto
What’s the hostname / Friendly name ?
At plex.tv, I see
[root@apsoplex ~]# hostname
apsoplex
[root@apsoplex ~]# domainname
(none)
I have in sysctl.conf
net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6 = 1
net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6 = 1
and applied it but plexmediaserver is still binding to tcp6
OK I fixed that by making this addition to Preferences.xml
EnableIPv6=“0”/>
but now I have
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:32400 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
rather than cond0’s ip address

The socket is created and set to listen on ALL host IPv4 addresses at port 32400/tcp

May I have the ZIP file please ? (from server start to this point)
Diagnosing ‘grep’ snippets does not work.
Looks like DNS failure (but i can’t be 100% without the log)
HTTP -6 = DNS
how to generate .zip you want?
Given PMS isn’t operating:
Stop PMS
In the shell, drill down to /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application\ Support/Plex\ Media\ Server
sudo tar cfz /tmp/PlexLogs.tar.gz ./Logs
now attach /tmp/PlexLogs.tar.gz here
/etc/resolv.conf got munged by yum. Fixiing now.
PlexLogs.tar.gz (132.4 KB)
yep.

Apologies on the 192.x.x.x address. I saw the “192” . My mind went to “192.168” and RFC-1918 prematurely.
I understand now.
