Recently cant remote stream above 3Mbps

Server Version#:1.20.5.3600
Player Version#:plex for Mac 1.23.0.1435-e10e14cf or latest AppleTV4K TVoS version

Ill preface this by saying remote streaming used to work great, I could stream 1080p remotely up to about the max of my ISP upload which is 20Mbps. At some point in the last couple months, cant say exactly when, a plex update seems to have broken remote streaming to where I can barely watch remotely at anything above about 3 or 4Mbps, which means transcoding to 720p Medium in most cases. Even then its choppy with a lot of buffering.

Ive adjusted the settings regarding remote quality, ive checked the dashboard and I see my player is correctly identified as remote, ive even tried a VPN and make my remote player “local”, all with the same result.

Whats the next step to troubleshooting this? or is it just broken currently and a known issue waiting for a fix from Plex?

Thx

Would you please do the following?

  1. Verify (Settings - Server - General - Show Advanced) Debug ON, Verbose OFF - save if changes
  2. Start a remote playback session which captures the streaming problem.
  3. let play just long enough to capture
  4. Stop and wait 20 seconds
  5. Download the logs ZIP file
  6. Attach it
  7. Also please attach a screenshot of your Settings - Server - Network

as if by magic, server version updated to 1.21.0.3616 and now im able to stream at north of 10Mbps successfully again.
