there is another double episode for Friday as you see above 7:28 - 8:02 & 8:28 - 9:02
but looking them closer they both have the same episode name, could this be reason why, i.e. once the first has been recorded and added to my library plex think it does not need the 2nd episode ?
can this bug be fixed ?, and in the mean time how do I stop it ignoring episodes ?, I already have it set to New & Reapeats, as Gracenote fails to mark this show as NEW episodes.
Correct because it had the same episode number i think it already has it. Is it in fact two different shows? A few people have been getting incorrect guide data especially when it is a reboot show like Macgyver 1985 vs Macgyver 2016. This has been noted by the developers but is a gracenote guide data issue. I think they may be in contact for the incorrect data issues but I do not know for sure.

Can you verify it is two different episodes?
yes it is 2 different episodes. how can we avoid this ?
I think Plex will have to contact gracenote on this one. I tried to look it but not I did not see any listing here in the US to verify for Coronation Street.

yeah it is UK show, to be fare I do not think it should only down to Gracenote, I think plex needs add some sort of protection in place, i.e. check to see if description is different also, not only episode name, as this show does not seem to use episode numbers.
Yeah the protection is a good idea. The developers may be looking at doing that but I’m not sure.
Have you tried to just do individual recordings…at least for like a part 1 part 2 type series instead of recording the series? I know it is a pain but at least you would not miss shows for the wife which I totally understand it not a good thing at least in my household.

I’ve used individual recordings to get around this - the problem is you can’t do an individual recording if you have the season set to record.
Have to cancel the season, add the individuals, and then add the season back.
yeah, pita, and knowing me I would forget to re-add the schedule back, and then get even more earache
I guess plex inc are not interested in fixing this
the episode at 8:30 is different, and NOT a repeat of the earlier one. also please notice there is NO NEW tag for these episodes, as the same with Emerdale, please get Gracenote to fix there EPG DATE.
I wonder if this might be a priorities/padding issue? is it worth trying to remove the padding, and change the priority of Corrie so it is above both 'stenders and Silent witness.

no, nothing to do with padding, once it records the 7:30 episode the 8:30 disappears from list as it ‘thinks’ it has the 8:30 episode in library, and before you ask it is on new & repeat as Corri and Emerdale are NOT tagged as NEW episodes.
Do you have a log file which supports that scenario? one that shows the programme being removed from the schedule because it already exists in the library?
can’t get logs as when you enable debug log’s there vast amount of data, and file rotate before I get chance to grabs them, at least that what happened that last time I tried. but I’ll try on Monday
This would imply, that my earlier suggestion of conflict/priority may well be correct. it seems that the guide data will allow for both evening episodes to be recorded, if all other settings allow for it.
