Since the new DVR is installed I have to set it to ‘record all episodes’ else it wil not show in the schedule. It does not check my library/collection for missing episodes. It seems to me that only first time ever aired shows are marked as NEW. (like a new season (10) of Death In Paradise on BBC ).
New indicates first time aired, not new to your library.
thanks johnm_ColaSC for you quick response. Thats new to me. Maybe my source before this one did not support the ‘aired new’ part. But in the new DVR source the ‘aired new’ is not supported for some Dutch channels. But ok.
But that leaves the question why the DVR does not check my collection to record the missing episodes. Now I have to record ‘all episodes’ . It wil probably create multiple copys of existing episodes? Or will it juist record the missing episodes? Havn’t checked that yet.
Plex should not record episodes that are already in your library, unless a partial recording was made by Plex and the episode is aired again, or you have the replace lower resolution selected and an airing is found at a higher resolution. For example, I had several recordings of a show this afternoon, all the episodes were consecutive. There were 2 episodes in the middle that were not recorded because they already existed in my library.
