Would have added to this thread but it was already closed and referred to Android TV, not Roku.
When watching a live OTA show, sometimes I see something that makes me want to save the show. My server does have Allow Partial Recordings=true. In Roku (both a Roku 3 and newer TCL Roku TVs) I’ve tried using the down arrow to display the controls toolbar and navigating to the Record button, which opens a recording menu (I choose Current Episode).
I’ve also tried using my Plex phone app (Android ) to record from the program guide, which does prompt me to watch from the beginning when I first hit it, indicating that other clients can access the buffer, but then I backed out and touched/held to choose Record. In all cases it only records from the point of requesting the recording, and does not include the watch buffer (so the footage I’m trying to save is lost).
Have tried 4 times to record a live show in progress hoping to get the buffer, including this morning after applying the latest Plex server update (Win10Prox64).
Just adding this to the desired features/bug list. If there’s an effective workaround to record a live show in progress including the buffer, would love to hear it.
