Recording channel/time without valid guide data

Many of the OTA channels available in metro Phoenix, AZ (85226) are not providing guide data yesterday and today (5/31 & 6/1 2023). Normal behavior resumes tomorrow. This will cause me to not record episodes of some shows I like today. However, the actual broadcast is occurring.

Is there a way to manually set a time/duration/channel recording in Plex so I may get through this hiatus without missing a recording? I can fix the show identification later but I would hate to miss a few episodes just because of guide issues I have noticed.

I have tried reloading the guide multiple times over the last few days. It isn’t that. This is a guide population issue.

I have a PlexPASS (since 2017).

Unfortunately there is not. There is a feature suggestion for this functionality; if I can find it I will link it here.

Allow the search to provide a match a user can select for recording regardless of that programs pressence in the EPG. Use case: New series to premier in the fall but it’s still the spring. Since I saw the trailer today I want to create a schedule for when it airs. Then I don’t have to keep tracking the news to find the premier date and create a calendar event to create the schedule. Thank you. Even though it cannot be done (yet) at least I knew to cease rummaging through the interface and to temporarily set up an alternate open source DVR function which used a guide which was complete for those days. It set up with 30 seconds to spare and I did not miss anything.

It may be a function of the guide interruption but now that the guide is restored those settings which were set to record shows on those channels are not finding them. I had to delete and recreate them. The visible aspects were identical (name, time, channel, etc.) but perhaps there was an under-the-hood show identifier which wasn’t matching in the resumed guide. No matter, I didn’t have time to investigate and all is well with the new recording reservations.

I do something similar. I use Plex for my primary DVR. But I have NextPVR set up for certain edge cases. For example, I’ve got standing recurring recordings configured by keyword in the event that certain shows ever air again in my area.

My understanding is that that’s more-or-less what happened.
