Recording failed: Live TV - session

I’m using an HDHR Prime with Media Server version 1.7.6.4058 on Windows 7.

I have Live TV working, but I am getting these errors repeating every 30 seconds or so, whether I am watching Live TV or not. When watching an MKV file with no live TV streaming, I still get these.

Any ideas?

I’ve

Restarting the server fixed this.

I am constantly getting this error as well. I have a HDHomerun Prime even after I updated to the latest version (1.8.0.4109). This error happens when running the DVR on Shield or FreeNas.

Any answers to this? I get this error every time I exit a live channel, even when I’m not recording

Same here. Watcing Live TV is fine, but when I press stop this error comes-up.

Any one have thoughts on this error as described?

I’m getting the same thing when trying to watch live TV. I can watch via HDHomeRun app fine, but cannot use Plex at all. Plex Media Server Logs_2018-11-19_15-06-27.zip (2.6 MB)

When pressing stop I also get this error even when not recording.
Macos mojave Plex Media server 1.14.0.5468.

I see I’m not the only one having this problem based on how this thread was recently revived.

My PMS is running Windows and I’m seeing it on Fire TV Stick. Both are current versions. I even just rebooted the server with no effect.

I’m having the same problem. It seemed to have started a few updates ago.

I’m running Plex 1.14.0.5470 and watching via Apple TV.

It’s mainly when I stop watching live TV it pops up with “Recording failed: Live TV”.
But, I’m also struggling to initialise the Live TV stream if I turn on the Apple TV after not using it for a while. Just doesn’t start then comes up with “Recording failed: Live TV”.

I’m having the same problem with Plex Server running on Shield. Watching live TV on any device other than Shield is almost impossible with this error being thrown. Recordings are fine. Its the live TV that’s giving this problem

I’m getting the same error as well. I have rebooted the PMS, and rescanned the antenna. I am running Ubuntu 18.10 with a hauppauge dual tuner. I have created a temp directory with chmod 7777 on the local SSD to see if that helps with no avail.

I primary use Apple TV as the client with tvOS 12.1(16J602) and the error is on this client. I tested my my MAC with a Chrome or Safari browser and did not get the error.

I tested my apple phone with ios 12.1.1 and the plex app version 5.7.2 and I am getting the error on this device as well.

My movie library does not give me any error.

I’m thinking something is going on with the app when I close out the live TV session.

Decided to give Plex another shot after discovering an issue with my other system. Getting this error on all my devices as well. Shield, iPad, iPhone, MacBook and fire tv.

Doesn’t seem to affect anything but annoying.

Any reply from Plex on this? Every single time I leave a channel it says: “Recording failed: Live TV”. Live TV works, so it’s just an unneeded error popup every time!!

The wife and kids are annoyed.

Same issue. I’m on Apple TV version 1.37 and he homerun Quatro. Also MrMc is able to tune in to several OTA channels that Plex cannot.

Just want to ‘chip in’ and say I have the same issue.
Running Plex server 1.14.0.5470 on Windows 10. I get this on both my Apple TV 4K and my iOS devices. Can’t comment on any others, as I only use the above.

It doesn’t effect the playback, but it’s very annoying.

Plex Media Server update 1.14.1.5488
(DVR) Don’t return an error message when shutting down a live TV session in a normal way (#9277)

I’m assuming this is the fix.

Running this version of PMS, with FireTV, still getting this error and failure, so this has not fixed the issue, at least in my situation

No longer have this error

Same error message here on Nvidia Shield with the Hauppauge WinTV Dual HD Tuner. Playback does not start instead it throws this error and then afterwards “An error has occured, please try again later”. The error ist present on the Shield itself as well as other playback devices.
After setting it up, it worked fine for a few weeks.

Everything is up to date and I tried rebooting the Shield, no help. Any other ideas?
