Hello. I was just sitting looking at my dvr schedule when an episode attempted to start recording then immediately failed “due to transcoder error” which then changed after a few minutes to “The recording was not started because airing was in progress”.
Why did the transcoder fail and why in the world is a transcoder even involved here in the first place? The hdhr logs indicate successful open of the channel. I viewed the channel in plex immediately after it failed without issue. So what gives? The logs are below and are exceptionally uninformative about the cause of error.
Phantom recording errors are a bane of Plex. They mysteriously fail, then just go away if you don’t notice them quick enough. My library is riddled with almost complete series missing single episodes here and there.
