I am having a real mix of recordings that work and ones that fail - more fail than work currently.
If set to remux they can fail at any point - sometimes right after starting - sometimes they look to get right to the end and then fail.
The recording schedule shows “there was a transcode error” and the server log shows an entry :
Sep 15, 2016 15:00:08.984 [5804] DEBUG - MediaGrabber: Operation for Storage Hunters - S2 E3 - Checkmate completed with status 5 (There was a transcoder error)
If set not to remux or transcode they fail with the error “the recording was aborted”
Server version : Version 1.2.0.2765
Running HDhomerun Connect (have tried 2 different ones)
Any idea what is wrong?
Have you tried updating the firmware of the connect?
Do you get good reception from you antenna ?
I know the newest update is suppose to do better with handling occasions where the reception drops out but not sure what the limit of that is.
They are : HDHR4-2DT
currently running 20160630atest2
I will update the firware and give them a reboot and see if that makes any difference. The antennna signal is fairly strong (it is a boosted roof Ariel and nothing and is not usualy an issue with signal from other programs that have been using the receivers. (HD home run itself / WMC / direct VLC stream etc. )
Now updated to : 20160902beta3
This seems to be the latest I can find - will now do more testing!
After the upgrade I have 2 more working and another failed recording - There was a transcoder error
And another one - does the log entries mean anything useful ?

Question on this…same issue for me and i have it on almost every show…wondering if bad signal could be the culprit. My signal is terrible right now…waiting for my permanent antenna and using a terrible one…all channels have medium to little stream issues…could that error out the transcode?
I have experienced 2 issues that seem to cause this on my server.
- If Plex maintenance tasks are running.
- If other users are watching media requiring transcoding
when recording.
I am on cable… Reception is NOT a problem and about 30% of my recordings fail
I have also posted this info and no acknowledgement from Plex…
