Hi, I have a problem with HDHomeRun and my Plex server. When I try to record movies from my HDHomeRun I have a choise of Libraries I can use to recorrd to and I select a folder Recordings. They record fine and everything seems to be OK. When i try to record a TV Show I don’t have this option and I need to record to Library TV Shows which is not a huge problem but when time comes and recording is starting I have warning triangle next to recording and when I open it up I can see error: There was a transcoder error and once TV shows finishes I can see that this hasn’t been recorded. I checked permission for both folders and everything looks the same. Do you have any ideas what might be wrong with it?
We need to see a Plex Media Server log in order to try to figure out what the issue is.
Thanks Keithah, I checked logs and saw that top level folder was missing (The show name). I created it manually and everything is working fine now but there are some shows which have a symbol “:” in a name. I can’t create those folder names on Windows so I don’t know how to resolve this issue. Do you have any advise in regards to those?
It’s also weird that I created a folder name manually “The Bill” and this is the show name on my Program Guide and episode started recording. When it finished it put a file in a new folder called “The Bill (1984)”. I don’t fully understand this but today at 4pm I’m attempting to record a show “Hardcore Pawn”. In last few days it didn’t get recorded due to error described in initial post but now I created top level folder and give you some feedback back about this after 5pm but if you can think about the issue with symbol in a name that would be useful.
I’m even more confused now. Few other shows I’m trying to record they work fine but Hardcore Pawn doesn’t want to work.
How I can send you all Plex Media Server logs?
Immediately after the issue happens, go to Plex Web, click on Server>>Help>>Download logs.
That will prompt you to save a zip. Not sure where to put them as I do not know what info is in them.

Thanks guys. I know where to send logs but not sure which file is storing data and how do I transfer it to plex themselves for troubleshooting.
Go to Settings>>Help>>Download Log and just upload the entire zip that gets created.
Sorry rsava but I’m not planning to send everything as it contains my personal details there like files in libraries etc. If someone can tell me which log files I need to send and after reviewing info in them I will send relevant files.
The Plex Media Server and Plex Tuner Service logs are the two most important ones in this case.
