Redundant files causes problems on several devices

Hi together,

at the moment i am migrating all my videos from one storage to another.
For this i have added the target location of my videos to plex, so it recognizes the second version of the files when they have arrived at the target location.

This is working and after this i have two versions selectable “under” each movie in plex.
I can select one specific version of the video or i can click on the “main object/movie” and let plex select one of the versions by itself…

But i found some devices where this is a problem… At the moment i found my Nvidia Shield and my Android Phone. When i try to play a Movie which has two versions of the same file i get a never ending rotating “symbol” and it never starts to play one of the versions.
Looks like he isnt able to make the decision which version he should use, if both versions are the same only on different storages…

Does anyone know this problem?

sounds like the same problem…
Not sure if its possible to fix this on server side or if the android-apps need a fix…

Would be great if someone from the plex-team could take a look at this.

It’s really annoying… And a showstopper for these devices!

First i thought it only happens when the two files/versions are identical but I think speeddeamon is right as I can reproduce this with many other movies which have two versions…

Manually selecting a version can’t be the solution for sure as friends and family aren’t able to do this and it isn’t possible in all clients I think
