Refresh of MetaData on every movie I click

Player Version#: Plex Web 4.37.2

Every time I choose a movie Plex does a Metadata Refresh on it. Sometimes this takes FOREVER. Sometimes it doesn’t even complete. I can go to a movie and then 10 minutes later go back to that movie and when I choose it, it will refresh the Metadata and sometimes just go and go and go.

I want to know why even when Metadata is already there does it do a new scan when I choose the movie (Doesn’t do this on my TV shows) And is there a way to turn this off so it only updates metadata at the scheduled times.

I don’t want every movie I choose to when clicking around in plex to then do a metadata refresh and hold me up.

Which main agent do you use to grab metadata from for your movies?
What’s the list of ticked agents and order do you use? (see Settings – Agents)

Right now I am using the Plex movie agent with The Movie Database for my info.

I am wondering if I should uncheck any of the sources in the list?
