New update to Shield software (Marshmallow - I think?) seems to have broken adjust refresh rate for me. Anyone notice something similar. Start a file and it randomly becomes a stuttering mess, press ‘pause’ re-start and it locks to the refresh rate, but again randomly reverts to stuttering playback. Switching off ‘display refresh rate’ gives smooth playback, but at 60Hz.
Any help - can produce debug logs if required
Thanks
The Android team is aware of issues with refresh rate switching being enabled on the Shield. They are working on an fix but i do not have info on when exactly the next update will be but should be pretty soon.
Thanks BigWheel much appreciated - was beginning to think I was losing my mind lol.
Any further information on this - I see there have been 2 releases for Android, in the past few days - neither of which resolve this issue.
Is this still under investigation?
there was a fix in version v4.22.0.534
if it is still happening to you please provide some logs so I can make a new report for the Android team
Hi - sorry life took over and I wasn’t able to address this issue.
@BigWheel - what logs do you need me to produce as I am still getting the playback issues as described in the first post.
Bump - is nobody else seeing this? It really is making my lifetime plex pass purchase seem a waste of money, as my viewing from this app is literally unwatchable with the constant stuttering in this mode.
Would really appreciate some assistance.

Everyone else is seeing this. Check my thread ‘A plea to the Plex for Android TV Devs’ and the Nvidia SHIELD thread.
Cheers dan - wasn’t aware of your ongoing thread’s will check them out. Would have been nice to have had some follow-up from the dev team, considering they had already asked for debug logs if the fix didn’t resolve the issue.

Yeah there’s some useful info in there. I agree. It would be nice to just hear they can reproduce the issue. The stutter is super frustrating.
