Nvidia Shield → Denon X3700H → Optoma Cinemax P2 Projector
I’ve been having a problem recently where a 24fps 4k HDR movie would finish, drop me back to the Plex app, but the colours would be really dark and overly saturated, almost like there was a device in the chain still rendering HDR and making a mess of it! The projector reports that HDR is no longer active.
The only way I can find to get out of it was to play a 4k HDR movie from a streaming service, like Prime Video or Netflix. Upon exiting playback, colors return to normal on the Shield.
I had tried EVERYTHING. Turning off color space matching, limiting the color to 8 bit so as to avoid any sort of switching error, different cables and i/o ports, and nothing worked.
Until, as a last ditch effort, I turned off Refresh Rate Switching in the Plex app, and bam, problem solved!
Obviously, this is sub-optimum. Has anyone else encountered this? Is this a known issue?
