Refreshing Guide Takes Inordinate Amount of Time

We have our guide set to use an XML file, and it seems that whenever the guide refreshes now it takes a longggggggggggggggggggg time. Over an hour. It used to happen in a couple minutes.

yes - using the “Enhanced Guide” DVR setting slows down guide refresh considerably. When using xmltv guide data, the “Enhanced Guide” option is enabled by default.
