Plex somehow ceased to work on both desktop and web, claiming I had no access to my movies. After fumbling about with regedit and poking around, failing in everything attempted, I finally did a complete uninstall/reinstall and it appears to not have fixed anything.
Perhaps even made it worse.
Now I can see that my server is still up, at least the name from my attached screenshot. But I can’t access anything about it or even make new libraries. (My settings folder looks compleatly different from what other forums suggest. [see picture 2])
An afternoon frustration that’s making me bald.
I had a very similar experience a few days ago trying to set up a new PMS on my Mac. I even re-installed the whole OS to no avail.
What finally alleviated the issue for me is to change a Hidden Server Setting. I had to set enableLocalSecurity to 0 / false. By default this setting is turned on. I got the idea from the post about new claiming requirements.
First I thought the issue has nothing to do with claiming (and maybe it doesn’t), but the setting ultimately helped me to get my server running. After I got it working I was able to just set the setting back to default. I suspect there was something during this initialization phase that didn’t let me continue.
Anyway just one idea, because the error message for me was the same. Could be something else of course for you. Hope you can figure it out! Maybe others have more ideas.
