Reinstalling Plex on DSM 7 (Synology) from scratch

DSM Version: 7.0-41890
Plex Version Running on DSM: 1.24.1.4931-7000

I upgraded Synology / DSM from 6.0 to 7.0 without the knowledge of compatibility issues with the Plex Server.

I found the instructions of manual fix after I had tried to trouble shoot the problem on my own.

So far, I have uninstalled the Plex server from the Synology / DSM server (I chose the option to completely remove everything) and reinstalled the latest version from the Plex website. I added the Folder that I wanted to share in my libraries yet Plex cannot scan the folder for media when I attempt to scan it.

I have a very simple set up on this Synology / DSM server.

I am using it for family pictures / videos and the folders are organized on the server itself so I don’t necessarily have any kind of meta data or playlists that need to be saved.

I can set up my Synology / DSM as a new device and all I need from Plex is to show these pictures / videos on my TV.

I noticed that there is no Plex user and folder in the Control Panel. Plex created the user and folder on the previous version and I know the new one work differently.

So what I really want to know is if I just want to add the server as a new device, what do I have to do?

Currently when I try to scan the folder for media from the web interface, there is no activity shown and nothing changes.
