Reinstating server after storage pool removal

So last week, I had a critical error come up on my Synology DS420+ overnight, related to an issue in one of the drives. Following the instructions given, I ensured everything was backed up and removed the storage pool.

My Plex Server was saved in this storage pool so, per the Plex support article Move an Install to Another System | Plex Support, I backed up the Plex Media Server folder.

I have now reached the point of reinstalling Plex. It runs fine at first but, on replacing the contents of the folder from the back up, I am unable to run the package. When I tell it to run, it only does so for a second before stopping again.

I’m relatively new to all of this and have no idea what to do from here.
I’m really keen to avoid having to start from scratch if possible. Can anyone help?!

Synology Model?
DSM 6, 7, or 7.2.2?
Plex Media Server version?

Plex Media Server Versions

Which version of Plex Media Server was installed before the problem?
Which version of Plex Media Server is currently installed?

If you were running 1.40.x before, you cannot run 1.29.2 from Synology Package Manager. The two versions are incompatible and Plex will most likely crash. You need to run the current public, 1.40.5, or beta, 1.41.0, release.

Plex 1.40 introduced many database changes. It is not possible to fall back to a release before 1.32.1 (such as 1.29.2 in the Package Center).

Plex Data Folder Permissions

If the NAS is running DSM 7, perform the procedure in FAQ 32: Repairing the PlexMediaServer shared folder.

Depending on how the backup was restored, folder and file permissions may need to be reset. The procedure will ensure folder & file permissions are correct for the Plex data folder.

The version was the problem, knew it would be something simple I missed! Thank you so much.
