[RELEASE] OpenPHT-Embedded 1.5.2

I have the tearing issue on chrome box as well. It only happens when sync audio to display or match display resolution are checked. In the mean time things look great but I will be going back to old plex + open elec.

Edit: I was able to fix via xorg.conf for intel graphics and alleviate the issue.

I’m noticing audio sync problem. Nothing changed on my HTPC except I updated the piles server to the lates version and then updated openpht to 1.5.2.

Just installed this version and I’m having issues with CEC once I turn on my TV and amplifier. I have to reboot openpht to get it working again.

Depending on TV manufacturer you have to turn on the TV/Amp before starting OpenPHT. Not all manufacturers implement CEC the same.

I know for a fact that this is not an issue with newer Sony TV/Amp’s.

I only mention this because it works perfectly in Mark Walker’s OE3.2.4 with PHT.

Are there any logs I can retrieve to look through?

Have you looked at the CEC settings?

I had the same problem as the others using a chromebox aka massive tearing, it got fixed by copy-pasting the intel xorg.conf from the openElec wiki, however I do have a problem with the hdmi color range using the full one instead of limited which kill all greys and makes the picture way darker, I tried ticking the option in setting without any luck (does not seem to change anything), and adding a autostart.sh again copy-pasted from the openElec wiki but it does not seem to work either…

EDIT : Okay, made my autostart.sh work, however while watching the HD.709 Brightness calibration video I can only see lines 19-25 flash and not 17-18, meaning it’s still noticeably darker. For example when I compare same scences between OpenPHT and my chromecast movies will slightly lighter (without being washed out) and so better on my chromecast…

Any idea on how to bring the picture to flash starting at 17?

I can confirm the tearing issue and the mouse cursor in the middle of the screen when openPHT starts. I use it with mac mini late 2015 with generic version. Neither rasplex nor openPHT for mac does that.

There’s a small error that I can recreate on three chromeboxes with embedded. If the chromebox goes to sleep and wakes up after the receiver and TV’s are on the box syncs up in a very screwy refresh rate 49.99, which isn’t even selectable under normal operation. It also has shown as a 0 refresh rate in the setting menu. There is also no audio played under any circumstances.

Adding a 5s lag to the Logitech profile, making it so the chromebox resumes first fixes this issue.

tldr: there’s some kind of sync issue coming from sleep.

Does wireless network work on this version ? I installed it on NUC5CPYH and am not seeing any wireless network configuration in the OE settings. It worked fine while I was running OE 6.

Yes, wireless is working fine.

You should have got the option to select your wireless network during the first run wizard, it can also be accessed from System Settings.

I have a weird problem with OpenPHT-Embedded 1.5.2, I have a mouse cursor in the middle of the screen, if I use an IR remote when I press any button (Plex) the cursor goes away until the screen saver kicks in, when using the IOS app the cursor stays on the screen, is this a bug?

Thanks for your help

Does AirPlay work with this?

I have both of these issues on a NUC.

hey guys… i just moved over to openpht embedded after using pmp for a bit. i really like the pht interface more.

so, for those with a recent intel nuc, all you had to do was edit the xorg to eliminate the screen tearing? with the screen sync off, it is much less prominent… but hey, if i can get it with no pull down thumbs up

As far as I know, it is a documented bug that will hopefully be addressed in the next release. Personally, I haven’t found a solution yet and just use openPHT with the screen tearing and brightness flickering.

i just tried the xorg fix and so far, it looks good. i haven’t tested heavily yet though

Hello, I like PHT much more than PMP. Unfortunately I use a Zbox 323 Nano with an Pioneer AVR. There is a known problem with Openelec, Intel HDMI and Pioneer receivers. https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/114303/oe-patching-the-openelec-pht-build
It can be fixed by adding a advancedsettings.xml File in with the settings sample rate 46000 but this doesn’t seem to work in OPHT. Is there a way to patch the release so that it is possible to use Pioneer AVR ?
