I believe that TV runs the new Tizen OS. The Plex app for Tizen was ported over by Samsung themselves based on the Samsung app made by Orca. The app has not been tested by anyone at Plex so there is no guarantee that the app will even work. If there is a problem, there is nothing Plex can do about it either.

Thanks for your reply. The frustrating thing is that I have had it working twice for several days then it just stops!!!
I have my tv shows and photos on a Drobo5D that is hard wired to the system and I am not sure if I have correctly installed Plex through the download on my “computer” which is linked to the Drobo or should I have downloaded it directly onto my Drobo?

I don’t think the 5D can run Plex Media Server (PMS) so you needed to install it on your computer. So make sure the app is looking for Plex at the IP address for your computer and not the IP for the Drobo.

Take a look and see if your problem has been discussed there. It’s a long thread so it’s a lot of reading.

Can you suggest what would work or do I just have to wait for Samsung to test the app to make it work on the new software in 2016?

Not knowing what the actual problem is, it’s hard to say what the fix is. Here are a few things to try.

Finally managed to get the tv to connect to Plex on my computer. The tv was hard to kick in this morning but eventually accepted the Plex icon app and issued a new 4 didget code. My computer then liked this and all opened up as it should. Many thanks for your help. ^:)^

Buy a Chromecast or Android Fire TV or wait until the code the app for that tv…if they code the app for that tv.
