Greetings. New to the forum and Plex. Here’s the issue. I have Plex media server running on an Asustor Drivestor 2 NAS. I have Plex Premium lifetime membership and want to be able to access the ser ver from outside the home network… I can enable remote access, it connects to the server ythern tells me “Fully accessible outside your network”. I have (I think) port 32400 forwarded since Plex asked permission to forward it when I installed the server. I also have "Manually specify public port and have 32400 typed in. As soon as I leave the remote access screen, Remote Access switches to “Not available outside your network”. How can I get Plex to allow remote access???
Remote Access saying “fully available” then changing to “Not available” is Plex being optimistic. It is trying to enable remote access, failing, then displaying “Not available…”
Did you forward the port in your router?
If you manually specify a port in Settings → Remote Access, you must also forward the port in your router.
Here’s an example from an Asus router. In your case, the external port is 32400.
Service Name: Can be anything.
External Port: Must match external port specified in Settings → Remote Access
Internal Port: Always 32400
Internal IP Address: The IP address of your Plex Media Server.
Protocol: TCP (TCP required. Some routers also forward UDP, which neither hurts nor helps).
Source IP: Blank / Any / All. This is the IP address of remote devices. Since it can change without warning (ex: mobile phone switching cells), you do not want any limits.
Yea this started happening to me too with a few updates ago. Running on Windows 2016 and 2022 servers. It still works remotely though even though it says this.
