Remote Acces issue

I really wish this issue can be officially addressed being that for such a long time so many different people seem to have had the same issue.

I am having a similar problem to others where Remote access is always (red) and when I go into reset it it it starts working but only for like 5 seconds. Even when I use the manual port forwarding method its the same thing, works for 5 seconds then stops.

I am using the Arris SBG6580 router. And I have followed all the port forwarding steps to no avail. Once it worked but about 24hrs later the problem cam back.

you sure your ISP in Saint Kitts doesn’t block any ports?
do you have any other port forwarding setup for any other services?

Nope. Nothing else is being forwarded. And I don’t know about any ports being blocked. In all fairness I was able to get it to work doing the whole port forwarding thing sometime last week. Worked for like a day or two then back to this 5 seconds thing.

I had this issue which was caused by having the ISP modem/router combo connected to my personal router (look up Plex’s double NAT details). Once I put my personal router in bridge mode I’ve been good.

well thats weird… using @Atomix_84 suggestion it worked, but switching to bridged basically meant I couldn’t log in via wifi on any of my devices and the only device connected to the internet as the one that was connected via Ethernet.

edit:
After switching things back to routed, retried the remote server, its working again now. This all makes no sense.
