Remote access again!

WTF is up with Plex? I don’t change ANY setting, yet remote access is as stable as my winnings on a roulette table… “Server is not reachable” I am going through all the tutorials, going through forums, but always sent in a loop where all settings are checked, security levels etc… but why does it then all of a sudden start working, then not working another time?

Hugely frustrating and as even without changing settings it sometimes works makes me think I can look for a solution for an infinity as the answer will not be found by the user… can’t you please not just get it friggin right for us paying users?

I agree this last beta release is complete BS… had to reinstall Plex entirely and it just crashed again. By far the worst update in years…

JUST FYI. There is a similar but older thread on this problem. Go take a look at it . Especially the last two postings re: xFinity routers.

seeing the mention of xFinity I have found that the xFinity gateway routers have new xFi Advanced Security - see https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/using-xfinity-xfi-advanced-security

It appears that this blocks requests coming in until the user allows access for the remote IP and when allowing access that would only be for 30 days.

Same problem here. Since a few days I’m getting “Server unreacheable” from some devices…
I have not changed anything on my setup… same router than 4 years ago…
I have just installed PMS 1.18.7.2434 and same problem…


same problem here… everything was working until this morning. no changes, but no access with plex.tv remote or local

Same issue here. Openwrt router, no change in the last month or so, and suddenly not only the server is unreachable, even from the machine the server is being ran, as it’s impossible to quit the app as usual, having to force quite the process.

Is this still happening with the latest beta that you are running on 1.18.8.2468-5d395aa9 ?

There have been some fixes relate to server access (not remote access related but would cover both local and remote)

If there is still an issue, please gather logs for the problem and give indication as to when arose and from what device
