Server running on Windows 11 desktop computer with ethernet cable to unmanaged switch (no other devices connected) connected to router.
I’m having trouble getting local devices to see the server when remote access is enabled on the server. Configurations and outcomes below:
Desktop Ethernet:
Remote access disabled/ no port forwarding on router = local access works, remote access doesn’t work
Remote access disabled/ port forwarding manually in router = local access doesn’t work, remote access doesn’t work
Remote access enabled/ manual port forwarding = local access doesn’t work, remote access works
Remote access enabled/ UPnP port forwarding = local access doesn’t work, remote access works
Desktop WiFi:
Remote access disabled/ no port forwarding on router = local access works, remote access doesn’t work
Remote access disabled/ port forwarding manually in router = local access works, remote access doesn’t work
Remote access enabled/ manual port forwarding = local access works, remote access works
Remote access enabled/ UPnP port forwarding = local access works, remote access works
