Remote Access Connectivity

Server Version#: 1.25.0.5282

I was playing around last night attempting to disable Remote Access and was after some advice/observations.

I removed the port forward in my router and disabled Remote Access in Plex Web.

I have a SIM in my iPad so I disabled Wi-Fi and attempted to access my PMS via 4G and to my surprise I could still access and play content. I tried rebooting the NUC which hosts PMS.

Am I missing something?

It is probably playing through Plex Relay, which you can read about here → Accessing a Server through Relay | Plex Support

This can be confirmed by checking the Plex Dashboard when the file is is playing.

Thanks @Blkbyrd I didn’t check the dashboard so that’s probably what’s happening. :+1:

No problem!

I disabled Relay but looking at Dashboard it’s connecting remotely via IPv6. I have IPv6 enabled in my router. No IPv6 firewall rules are mapped to NUC in my ASUS router. I have IPv6 disabled in Plex Web and restarted PMS and now remote access is not possible.

This is wild :grinning:
