Remote access disconnects after a few seconds

Server Version#:

1.42.2.10156

Was working fine for Years now for the last week it no longer will allow remote access, Any Help is Appreciated.

ā€œdisconnecting after a few secondsā€ means it doesn’t work to begin with. Plex takes an ā€œoptimistic approachā€ and shows a green status while testing the connection.

Step 1:
If your server is older than 3 months, take a look at your server logs to verify if there’s any references of a stuck certificate.
e.g. CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR: 429 message="API rate limit exceeded"

Step 2:
Even if you didn’t change anything, there could have been some changes to your remote access setup (e.g. changes by your ISP).

I do have Step 1 issues. I’ve already done everything in Step 2. Do you know how I ago about fixing the (CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR: 429) error? Thank you.

Check the Plex Media Server.log file for CERT related lines. The highlighted section (server logs) explains how you can access those logs.

I have read my server log files. That’s not the problem. The issue I am having is how do I fix the failed Certificate.

If that’s not your issue, you won’t have to fix the certificate.
What output did the remote access troubleshoot produce? Not the outcome (we know it’s not working).

e.g. is your remote/public port visible when checking from canyouseeme.org, does the public ip seen by Plexā€˜s Remote Access settings match that seen by canyouseeme.org?

Yes it is open.

I have a failed certificate. Is there not a fix to it?

You were affected by a certificate which has been stuck during its renewal process.
I’ve revoked it now.
Please wait at least 10 minutes, then stop and restart your plex server.

Thank you

May I also ask for a check on my certificate? I seem to also have issues connecting to my server and have yet to find a fix.

You are not affected by a stuck certificate.

Thanks
