We have a number of reports from users of the Western Digital android MyCloud server which is still running an old version of Plex Media Server v1.18.6.2350-143d2e66b
There appears to be an issue with that old version and recent changes to security certificates
An update by Western Digital to the Plex Media Server version is expected to resolve this. I do not know when they will be doing this.
I will add your case to the ones already reported
A question: Does remote access to the server actually fail or is it just the status indicator on the server setting page that goes unavailable?
Are you able to access the server remotely ?
Could you send me privately in a private message the response you get from this request to your server
https://plex.tv/pms/resources.xml?includeHttps=1&includeRelay=1&X-Plex-Token=xxxxx
Instead of the xxxxx put in your server token - to find out what that is see
Finding an authentication token / X-Plex-Token | Plex Support
Please copy the response you get back into a text file and then zip and attach in your private message to me
The issue with certificates for the old versions of Plex Media Server affecting remote access - as in the case for the Western Digital Android OS NAS should be resolved now by getting a new certificate issued.
If you are running with Secure Connections enabled and you are still running with the incompatible certificate, then I could get that old certificate revoked and a new one issued
You could also get it replaced by disabling secure connections and then restarting the server and then enabling secure connections again and restarting the server. A new certificate should be issued
If you are running with secure connections disabled, then re-enabling it should get a new certificate
