My plex server recently experienced an OS drive failure (Centos7). So I re-installed the server with Arch Linux, installed plex, mounted the pre-existing media RAID and got it running again.
Instead of starting from scratch though, I rsynced the previous plex databases and metadata files to prevent a total library rebuild. Everything is worked as expected as far as the media goes, however it seems that my remote users are unable to connect to the server.
I still see them as “Friends with Library Access” in the settings page however when the attempt to connect using their plex app, they get a “failed to connect to server” message.
What’s a bit weird is that in my library access page it shows the friends with a message of “User has access to N libraries” where N is actually double the allowed libraries. For example if “Sister” has access to Movies, Music and TV Shows, it will actually say “Sister has access to 6 libraries” while only showing those three libraries checked. Is it possible there are stale db entries for the old libraries from the old server and it’s being counted twice?
Is there anyway to force plex to refresh the shared libraries and rebuild the db without having to re-invite everyone? I did invite someone new and their access worked, so it seems to only be an issue with pre-existing users from before the server rebuild.
