Remote access failures after server migration

Server Version#: 1.43.3.10896-1
Player Version#: 4.160.0

I moved from bare metal Arch Linux to an Arch Linux VM within Proxmox on my server yesterday. I followed the steps for migration provided here. I am able to see and view all my local media. However, remote access no longer works. It is disabled in the settings. When I try to enable it, it just spins indefinitely.

It is not an issue with my port forwarding or router configuration as I had it working perfectly pre-migration and updated the config for the new local IPs. I do not have any custom certifications or domains. I have relay turned off.

Is there an issue related to Plex Remote Access / authentication services? This seems to be an unresolved issue dating years back in the forums and something people are complaining about now.

There seems to be an issue with the mapping state in my logs. I use a different port but I have also tested it with the default 32400 with no change.

As a recently new Plex Pass admin from a long time Jellyfin user, I am having a hard time understanding what my $250 got me.

The http error code (422) implies there’s some kind of communication problem when your server tries to publish its connection details to Plex (or processing the response from Plex‘s backend). It’s hard to tell what’s going wrong based on only the snippet of log.

Not aware of any „years old, unresolved issue“. What issue are you referring to?

There was a temporary outtage earlier today. Impacted remote access.

Resolved now I think despite Plex never reporting it.
