Remote Access intermittently turning on and off

Server Version#: 4.34.3

So I’ve seen that this is a regular issue, apparently for a variety of reasons.

I have two computers on the same network, I’ve used one for some time and never can remember having this issue.

I moved my files to a new computer and for whatever reason, Remote Access doesn’t seem to want to work.

I’ve tried with UPnP on and off (I have and Xfinity Gateway router, because they made me get one when I switched to unlimited data…)

I’ve set up port forwarding with Xfinity xFi settings to 32400 TCP/UDP and specified that port manually in the Plex Server.

I’ve also setup a static IP, my internet is working fine.

I can click disable remote access, then click enable, it goes green and I can access it via the app on my phone (disconnected from my network.)

Then usually within a matter of minutes, it switches back to Not available outside your network.

This happens every time I try, any help would be HUGE!!!

Did you disable xFi Advanced Security? It has a tendency to detect the remote access and block it.

Yep, sorry I forgot to include that in the original post as well.

It’s so weird to me that it works sometimes but not others.

For instance, I tried the android app (via mobile data.) It says offline but when I click on a folder things show up and play.

Having a similar issue - admittedly haven’t actively used my plex server for about 6 months (since the pandemic really hit the U.S.) but I have run the program to update it, which I believe it’s running the most current version.

All of a sudden I’m having terrible issues with “not available outside your network” messages…typically I would just disable my Norton antivirus and the Norton firewall for a few minutes, disable remote connections and then enable and it would be fine.

Now, nada. Doesn’t matter what I’ve done, nothing changes. It’ll be “available” for about .02 seconds then goes back to red/not available outside your network.

Definitely looking to find a fix for this asap as well
