Remote Access issue

Hi everyone!

I have been running a Plex server for quite a while and after an issue with my HP Microserver (N54L), running FreeNAS (now 11.1) had to set up the server again. I ported my old configuration (the whole 160gb Plex Media Server configuration folder) over to the new jail and everything runs perfectly, except I cannot get remote access to run without it being marked as “indirect”.

My network setup is an AVM Fritzbox 7412 (it’s not a full router) and a Belkin N750 configured in Access Point mode. The FritzBox is doing the LAN/DHCP/NAT things, so there is no double-NAT. Plex is receiving an IP address via DHCP, but it is set to be always the same.

I tried setting up the Plex server as an exposed host, opened the ports (32400 and 32300 when that was manually configured), turned Upnp on and off and it just won’t be completely reachable from the internet. It has worked with the same network configuration before, so I am suspecting something is weird on the Plex side. The Plex version is now

I have looked at the logs, but I do not know what the messages there actually mean. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your help!

Can you go to canyouseeme.org and see if port 32400 shows Success?
You only need one port 32400 not 32300 unless you are doing something strange.
Do you have a single NIC on your new system or multiple?

Thanks for the answer! I started randomly googling the messages in the log and apparently the issue is with some bug in Plex mentioned in this thread. Luckily the workaround suggested in the thread has seemed to work, as the “indirect” label has disappeared.

This thread can be closed then
