I have had ongoing problems for a while now with disruption of remote access to my Plex Media Server (currently 1.9.0.4252). The UPnP forwarding which the server will auto-generate in my router continues to mysteriously disappear after an hour or so. I developed a workaround that has helped wherein I create a port forward which mirrors the one my Plex Media Server generated. This lasts until Plex changes the searched for port (a time frame I am uncertain of)… is anyone else experiencing this? Is there any method to fix this permanently?
Why not just manually specify the port and then forward it in your router? That’s more stable than relying on UPnP. Make sure to assign a static IP address to your PMS box in your router’s DHCP settings.
I tried that previously with no success, but will try again.
few weeks ago my my plex server only works with upnp… same happend to my friend.
