I have followed all instructions and remote access flashes green and then nothing.

Running Plex on QNAP TS-251.

What more do you want to know?

You have a port forward setup on your router?

Yes. As instructed on the forums

Does canyouseeme.org show success for port 32400 or whatever port you setup?

No. When I look under the upnp on the router, there are different instances of my plex with different ports.

Same issues with Remote access on 1.18.2.2029 tried all the standard steps and having issues

So you don’t have a port forwarding setup?

Either upnp or manual port forwarding…
Setup a manual port forwarding.

If you need assistance post your router model and question.

@grew post your own forum post to track your own issue.

I have set up port forwarding. Should I shut upnp off?

Nighthawk R6000

Yes disable UPNP and make sure in Plex you check the box to manually specify the port.

Check canyouseeme.org for success.

No luck.

I have disabled my firewall and still no luck

Can you post your port forwarding setup?
Can you confirm your public IP on your router matches what canyouseeme.org shows?

@em2mcl - If you are sure you have created the correct port forwarding rule within the router, and you are sure you have disabled uPnP, then please shutdown the Plex Server, leave it shutdown, and restart your router. Once your router has successfully reconnected to the internet, startup Plex Server and then see what happens.

The reason I suggest this is because I have seen many routers hang on to sessions, even after disabling features, and only a reboot of the router clears this up.

No luck.

With port forwarding should the service be TCP, UDP or both?

Both is ok

PMS only needs TCP. it doesn’t stream with UDP.

Should I have a static IP from my service provider?

Static IP is not required. A Public-facing real IP is needed for remote access if the ISP provides CG-NAT addresses at the WAN port of the router (what the modem/router thinks its IP address is)

CG NAT addresses are 100.64.x.x/10
